About Pilsen

Pilsen is the fourth biggest city in the Czech republic. It was founded by the king Wenceslav II in 1925 on the confluence of Uhlava, Uslava, Radbuza and Mze rivers. Pilsen is famous for its industry and brewery and offers a wide cultural life. Constant education quality improvement efforts led to foundation of West Bohemian University in 1991. You can see many precious architectural sights while walking through the historical center, for example St Bartholomew’s cathedral, renaissance town hall, Jewish synagogue and many others.

Pilsen is the site for many cultural festivals and happenings - Skupa’s Pilsen, festival On the Street, Smetana’s days, Pilsner fest, Historical weekend, International bienale of painting, film festival Finale Pilsen. Recently Pilsen won the European capital of Culture 2015 title.

You can get to Pilsen in comfortable international railroad connection and periodical bus lines.

You can get to Pilsen easily from Prague’s airport Ruzyně using the D5 highway.

Tram Pilsen has three tram lines 1, 2 and 4. Night trams are not available and day tram are operational from cca 4:00 till midnight.

Trolleys

Trolleys Another option for travel through Pilsen are ecological trolleys with numbers from 10 to 18. Trolleys are operational from 4:45 till midnight.

Buses

Bus Bus lines are available 24/7 during night the lines with numbers from N1 to N6.

Parking in the center of Pilsen is paid from 7:00 till 19:00 in workdays During weekends the parking is free.
